The Learning & Development Manager leads a team to develop and deliver training, learning opportunities, and development programming for managers and staff employees that is effective, engaging, and aligned with the institution’s vision and strategic plan. The L&D Manager is also directly responsible for designing, developing, and delivering various L&D programming as assigned.
This position can be located on either the Kansas City or Wichita campus and will be a combination of in-office and remote work.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Work Experience:
- 3-5 years of supervision preferably in a human resources or organizational development function
- 7 years of experience in an organizational development-related role
- In-depth experience with Microsoft Office and Teams
- Extensive experience with training facilitation, presentation/public speaking, and communications skills as evidenced by application materials
Preferred Qualifications
Education & Certification:
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field
- Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach; ICF credentials (ACC or PCC); Certified Working Genius Facilitator; Certified Professional Trainer (CPT)
Work Experience:
- 7 years of supervision in human resources or organizational development
- 10 years of experience in an organizational development-related role
- Strong project management, process evaluation and improvement experience
- Experience with learning management systems
- Experience with ERP/HRIS systems, preferably Workday
Job Duties Outlined:
- Build and maintain a strong functional Learning & Development team through effective selection, training, coaching, mentoring, team building, and succession planning
- Ensure L&D program offerings are integrated and aligned to HR strategic objectives and institutional needs; direct team in determining feasibility and priority of new programs based on needs assessment, impact, time and effort, and budgetary considerations
- Manage program development and ongoing delivery and improvement of existing L&D programming, ensuring alignment with the entire HR team by maintaining communication and collaboration to achieve goals and objectives
- Oversee onboarding and first year experience programming to strengthen the connection for employees joining the organization and immersing into the culture through learning & development opportunities that prioritize engagement and retention
- Incorporate personal development models and assessment tools such as Clifton Strengths into L&D programs for leaders, managers, and employees at all levels
- Design, develop, and deliver program offerings as determined by organizational needs; lead and facilitate individual course sessions as needed
- Manage creation and dissemination of compelling communication for L&D programs and oversee program evaluation efforts
- Provide input to Director on budgetary matters
