Each year, JCPRD records more than 7 million park visitors and over 2 million recreation participations in over 4,000 programs.
JCPRD is now looking for an exceptional HR professional with at least three years of dedicated HR experience to serve as our first ever Recruiter/Volunteer Coordinator. The successful applicant will join our Gold Medal Team as we continue unprecedented growth through the development of new parks, trails, recreation facilities, programs and events. RECRUITER/VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Sources, “mines,” and builds relationships with potential employees and volunteers by attending job fairs; visits area college campuses and recruits potential volunteers and employees from accredited degree programs in early childhood education, parks & recreation administration, criminal justice, physical education & wellness, sports & leisure activities and applicable degree programs; develops, nurtures and maintains relationships with local organizations serving diverse populations; attends Chambers of Commerce and Rotary Club meetings and user groups serving professionals within the parks & recreation, wellness, criminal justice, childcare and sports & leisure fields. Develops and implements creative and innovative recruitment strategies and relationship building techniques using both in-person and on-line activities; uses social media platforms to build a pipeline of potential employees and volunteers for JCPRD. Stays apprised of JCPRD employment and volunteer openings and needs in order to focus or shift conversations with potential applicants; matches skill sets and interests with JCPRD opportunities; cross-promotes opportunities across all divisions and departments. Coordinates volunteer recruitment and assignment activities within JCPRD; solicits volunteer needs from all departments and centralizes this information for easy review and tracking purposes; establishes relationships with stakeholders and user groups who benefit from the programs and facilities offered by JCPRD and engages their help to work on a volunteer basis to support these areas and programs; ensures volunteers feel recognized and valued by utilizing existing programs; develops and creates other volunteer recognition and appreciation programs and events; identifies opportunities to be more efficient in the utilization of volunteers across all departments and shares full and part-time employment opportunities individual volunteers may wish to consider applying for. This position works under the direction of the Human Resources Director. Days: M-F, Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Qualifications
Education: Associates Degree required, with a degree in Human Resources, business, Communications, or other relevant field of study preferred. Experience:Â Three years dedicated human resources experience required. Skills: MS Office Suite of products (MS WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK); Familiarity with Recruiting websites such as Indeed.com, Glassdoor, Zip Recruiter and other social media platforms where recruiting can occur such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Ability to building relationships and communicate in a positive manner in one-on-one, small-group and large-group settings. Strong follow-through and organizational skills required. Must pass criminal history and driving background checks.
