Safe Haven Security Services, Inc., is the largest ADT Authorized Dealer and one of the fastest-growing segments of the ADT business family.  We are located in 46 states.  The Benefits Specialist position is located at the Riverside, MO office at 4825 NW 41st Street, Riverside, MO 64150.

Job Summary:

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability plans. This position oversees and administers Safe Haven’s leaves of absences.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assists with the implementation and communication for the open enrollment process
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
  • Performs quality checks and weekly audits on all benefits-related data
  • Assists employees regarding benefits issues and qualifying event changes. Works with third party administrators to assist with benefits claims resolution in a timely manner
  • Assists employees with life status changes and new hire benefit on-boarding
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, and other general inquiries
  • Processes and administers all leave of absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA. This role is the key liaison of communication between employees and managerial team
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities
  • Completes and processes all National Medical Child Support Orders
  • Assists with Verifications of Employment
  • Assists with monthly premium statements and reconciliation for all group insurance policies; resolves administrative problems with the carrier representatives
  • Responsible for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) 1095-C and 1094-C transmittal, accuracy and filing deadlines
  • Always preserves confidentiality and must work with a sense of urgency
  • Assists the department in projects as needed
  • The ability to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, detailed oriented and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required, with an emphasis in advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred)
  • Bachelors degree or Associates degree in HR or other related field of study
